Camp Kerrville

The Ulitmate Recreational Habitat for Grown Ups.
As we all leave the land of Kerrville to part company as the girls go off to Boston for 2 nights at Club Passim, and I drive to Evansville... I am left with ther distinct feeling that this journey will be far more fun and educational than I originally thought. The momentum is building, and the friendships accumulating already. Susan Werner and her mananger Jane Paul are amazing playmates, and I must tell you that we laughed until we cried so many times I can't even count. I love being around so many brilliant women. I also loved playing "Olivia Cruise" with Susan... where we were sitting by the pool, and holding hands and she thanked me for taking her on this lovely cruise. Just like those cheesy brochures they put out...And I also had fun with her telling me repeatedly that she loved me... which meant, "I want more of the coffee you made in that Bialetti!" Those girls...

Trina just informed me that she's cooking an egg on the dash of the van.... oh shit! And apparently it's really cooking... it's hot here in Texas. I have to also say that these girls are fun magnets. We spent the yesterday in the pool with John Gorka playing frisbee and watching him do his fabulous moves upon entry and re-entry (sometimes including The Full Gorka)and then some mexican food before heading to the show at around 6pm. It was a "in the round" and the lineup was wonderful. You could see John's sunburn from the back of the house! And John Gorka is not only a sweet man, but he's a good sport and funny as hell!
This video below is of the soundcheck from day 1..cap guns a blazin'....

I'm posting from Evansville, and I have to say that I drove from Kerrville to Texarkana and slept in the Trinity Baptist Church parking lot under the shadow of Our Lord In Heaven... it felt safe anyway. And then hightailed it to Indiana. The drive was uneventful, and flat... and humid. But I must say, the music on the ol' ipod was fun! I started the day at 6 a.m. with Nina Hagen singing "My Way" no kidding! A funny and surreal way to cap off the first night of having slept in the van! I wasn't bad at all.

Trina called after they had just finished a radio interview and she was with her pal Bunty... who apparently has a nice rack... and is a kickass photographer who takes snaps of alot of musicians.. they were just waiting to go to Passim for the show.

Had dinner with Heather and Julie in Evansville... I love those gals! Good times, lots of catching up, and now off to edit video.
