So.. first off, I have to say these girls are freakin' crazy fun! We have been in Kerrville now for a couple of days and staying with Susan Werner and her manager Jane Paul and it has literally been a laugh a minute. We all got cowboy hats and toy pistols and shotguns at my first trip into a Walmart. We then proceeded to spend the next several hours shooting at each other,storming into the room and ambushing Susan, and then taking them to the festival and messing around with them there.
The girls did an amazing set Susan did a couple songs with John Gorka (who she calls Juan) then she did her set. We really lucked out in that the weather was perfect. It had rained so much the day before that there were insane amounts of mud to deal with but most of it had dried by the time the girls played at 10:30pm. I shot footage from backstage which is an interesting pespective. I have to remember to turn the mic on... sometimes I forget... We did encounter some mud afterwards as the girls and their pack made rounds to play at a couple of campfires and drink hooch. We had John Gorka with us and at one point it became my duty to school him in what a Dirty Sanchez was..if you don't know ...well... and Mom...don't even go there...but it was highlarious! We got in at 3:30, and it was a great fist day at Kerrville.
Today was met with Jane being hungover...so Jane trina and I went out for a lil' IHOP to harrass the locals at about 8:30am. Now it's coffeemaking in the room, frisbee in the pool and soundcheck at 5pm for the show at 7pm. Trina and the girls fly out to Boston tomorow night for 2 shows at Passim and I head to Evansville IN.
THe van has been fun.. we are settling into it. The tomato plant is doing great, as is the rosemary plant we got in Bisbee. It's all good.
