So... if you are reading this, not only have Trina and I installed turf in the van, but it's the end of my time in Tucson. Well... actually tomorrow is then we head to Texas. The house is nearly empty, the yard is a bit cleaned up, I'm dropping off my Tacoma to be babysat with my pals K and J, gettting some fresh tomatoes (Trina wanted a tomato plant for the van.. we got one.. any guesses on how long it will live for in the back of the van?? Winner gets a free sumthun... from the road...) Anyhow... onto what happened last night:
The show was a great success, lots of incredible people there to listen to 3 very talented artists at the Congress. Victoria Vox from Baltimore opened..very talented ukulele chick! Trina played next and rocked the freaking house! And then Namoli Brennet.. very nice to see her as it's been over 6 months since we had seen each other. Got up to the room we took at the Congress,( hadn't stayed there since I was a drunken freak over 20 years ago..I have no details on that one, I musta been really drunk.) did my first flow/tracking sheet for sales and was pretty pleased with the event all the way around. My heart was filled up with the sights of people I love listening to music, and in general having a blast. And Ken the sound guy is always one of my absolute faves, him working there last night made it perfect. Club Congress rocks!!
Today was filled with alot of silliness, and prep for leaving. I really am leaving. Wow... I have wanted and yearned for this day to move beyond Tucson... and tonight is my last night..there is actually a great sadness to leave all of these incredible human beings I have called my community. But my excitement to go on this journey outweighs the sadness..alot. I can't believe we drive out tomorrow. It's all good... because forward motion is better than no motion at all.
So, thanks for reading this far.. I hope being in on the secret is at least mildly entertaining. As soon as I figure out my new phone, I'll be sending vids to the blog from the road.
Until next post... peace out!
