Yup... my birthday. Fab day! I have to say,there was nothing bad about today, and I made some great new friends! It started with a flaming bagel.. yes... I have video. And went from there! Trina made a vegan cake for me after I went to bed, last night too! That is too freaking cool!
Loved hanging with Annemarie and Joanna and Sue.... and then met Amy Speace and Jagoda... they will definitely be coming to Bisbee!!! They will just love it there!!!
Other noteworthy things about the day of the blessed event included getting the first soybean report from our Nashville/NYC correspondent Amy Speace and having my ex husband sing me the Layton Family Birthday Song for probably the 10th year in a row... I love him!
Great day, now I'm old... and need to edit video. Hey, a big shoutout to Bunty,Julie,Lyndell, and Ember up in the mountains.... keep on guessing what that "d" is about... you are red hot!!!

The amazing vegan cake was in the works for DAYS under cover of e-mail. It was fun to be in on planning the surprise.
She who was born on the day of the blessed event (W) was like the energizer bunny...T and I waited and waited and WAITED for W to FINALLY go to sleep so we could get to work on the cake.
I know Jagoda questioned why anyone would ever make a vegan cake if there wasn't anyone vegan who would be eating it. Fair question! However, I also think it was one of the BEST chocolate cakes I've ever tasted (vegan or otherwise).
So happy to have shared in the "day of the blessed event" (W's birthday...NOT to be confused with the OTHER blessed event of that day - the folk festival).

p.s. we haven't found a suitable replacement for the flaming toaster and are still "toasting" stuff in butter in a frying pan, just like T taught us.
