The month's journey...

So we are just into New Jersey it's about 10pm and we have about an hour to go. We have both taken disco naps during the ride, and both taken 2 shifts driving. Loved the brief but great hang with hostesses Jen and Jamie in Columbus, and last night's show at East Village was a hoot! Trina and Tracy played for 2 hours and gave a kickass show... They play so well together... Got to meet Peter who drove from Cincinnati for the show, and who is a fan of the blog...he rocks!!! Suzie the director from the Girl's Rhythm and Rock Camp was there and enjoying some brief time off before getting back to the second week of camp that has the girls forming bands. Amazing stuff being done there!! And it was great to get to hang with Suzie and share a little with her. She is very passionate about music and does a lot for the Columbus in that community. She is a mover and shaker for sure!

And Erica from the Willow Bend Retreat came out as well to make sure our very late nights continued right up to the end! That gal is pretty damn fun, and I look forward to having her visit Bisbee. We had a hard time saying goodbye to everyone and especially Miss Tracy Walker who was one of my key playmates at band camp. She is a great friend with a wonderful heart. I dunno what else to say now as I am just brian dead and punchy from being in the van all day... It made wacky happy to see a Friut Strip Gum truck.... I staryed singing a dumb song about it.... Punchy for sure! I did love Fruit Stripe Gum with the little zebra mascot guy as a kid. And now we have just decided the moon has a 'cheezy grin' and have validated the the moon is not only full, but made of cheese.... Over and out for now...

Great memories for me reading this post; about band camp in high school: I WISH I could've been rockin' out with the girls, but it was a concert band/orchestra camp and as first chair trumpet, I got stuck playing reville every morning at the ungodly hour of 6:00 into a microphone way down the hill from my tent while everyone else was still asleep in their little cots. They told me it was an honor that the first chair got; I would've rather stayed in bed...it's not easy playing the trumpet before you're actually awake!

Road trips: with an all-woman rock band I was in when I was in my early 20's in the 70's (this was before AA so you can imagine why I can't recall a whole lot of it, but enough to recall some fun stuff in the van and elsewhere), and candy I loved when I was a kid and still do (check out this website: Candy You Ate As A Kid www.oldtimecandy.com, maybe they have Fruit Stripe, a gum I loved, too), and mostly, the wonderful friendship you guys share...I really miss some of my friends who are far away.

Wendy, I've so enjoyed this whole blog and thanks for doing it; I've gotten to have a great time vicariously through you! I miss adventures like these from my past. You've made me smile every day! xoxo

I too enjoy the blog, thanks for keeping us updated and amused. I see Trina is coming to Indy 8/18. You will probably want to stay clear of 465 from 11:00am-2:00pm. This is the day of the loop for life and 465 will be closed to all traffic, except for motorcycles. If you want great photos/video, this is amazing. Miles of bikes, American flags haning off the overpasses/bridges and tons of thumbs up. Definitely a sight to see.

Take care!

The Show was well worth the drive, even though I seem to have weirdlingly experiences in Columbus. This time the city was completely enveloped in a shroud of dew drops. Only seven miles out and I could not see a light of the scrapers.

I usualy get lost coming in, but found the East Village on my first try. I got lost returning to Cincy; it could have been the three hours sleep and twenty-three up having a wee effect.

It is in the middle of Short North. If you have not been, and are local, or are coming into visit, the venue is great. It is not wide, but it is deep. A long beautiful out-fitted bar on the left wall. Sitting is along the right wall and down the middle, for those who like the wind of notes in your hair with two rows of tables. All seats have a clean view of the stage. The people within a excellent.

The T's were in fine Tune, playing as Twins joined at the Strings. I have seen Trina with Tracy several times before, and this show was as delightful as those past played. They even strummed guitars at the same time for the first time. I will pretend to believe.

If you ever have the chance to see Ms. Tracy Walker, do so, and do not worry about the mileage. The Lady is truly a delight to the ears and the mind with her playing expertise and lyrics to please and ponder. www.tracywalker.com

An aside to Ms. Nicolay, the bugle in the morning - been there, done that, been had too.

An aside to Ms Layton, I too, enjoy the blog, but remember cornfields are Triffis gone Good. It is the Sunflower fields you have to worry about.

An aside to Ms. Hamlin, Covington is calling you back to write another song. The River needs a Kin.
