here's an observation...

So this morning I am walking to the market to get coffee beans. Everyone is bundled up in overcoats and tights... kids are in cute puffy jackets... several women wearing scarves... and of course I am walking to the store in shorts...t-shirt...and flip flops.

The truth is it was a tad windy... but not cold. I have to come to the conclusion that New Yorkers can't wait for Fall. I mean they really have a wardrobe for it... and it's just what they do, right?

It'll be 70 degrees here today. you won't need a scarf!

I know that anyone from this area will dismiss this post immediately. But truthfully it was written from the point of view of someone who has lived in the sunbelt for a loooong time.

Puffy jackets and 70 degrees do not mix.

I'm just sayin'!

***update***
New Yorkers... they apparently know a helluva lot more about their weather than me! That wind picked up and it is cool in the shade. I have decided that a long sleeve t-shirt is now appropriate to go with my flip flops and shorts...

But usually, the Sun Belt peeps are the ones needing the puffy jackets and the scarves whenever the temperature drops below 70 degrees, b/c their blood is just too thin to handle it.

Those of us from colder climes are the ones not needing the jackets until November! (woj went to school within spitting distance of the Canadian border, and he doesn't put away the shorts until the temperature goes down below 20.)

You've got it backwards. :)
