Coffee, pirate flag, Steel Magnolias.

Gretchen... thanks for the piratty decoration. I lurve it!

Coffee nearly done, movie halfway through, and shower up at the marina handled. On my way back down the dock there is this ADORABLE tug boat kinda plush...small...and the guy who owns it was polishing it up. It's super freakin' cute...and it's obviously expensive and more like a small luxury r.v. on the water and not really a work boat even though it could do a job if needed. We chatted a bit and it turns out they just started really using the boat (maybe they just got it?) and are getting ready to do a 7 week trip up to the Philly area. They are retired and moved to Hilton Head full-time from Abu Dahbi. So, no wonder it's so nice! Dude must be some wealthy sumthin' and he and the missus are happy as clams here.

He asked me how I liked it here.

I told him about Bisbee and her said this turqoise ring is from Bisbee! And I told him I missed the quirk.

He said that Hilton Head was the exact opposite of quirk! And that it was filling up with accountants from Ohio in minivans with 2.5 children!

What do you make of that statement?

Is Hilton Head being spoiled by the fact that the majority of Ohio vacations here?

What I walked away from the interaction with was a knowing that I cannot discount what is paradise to some. I do like living on a boat...the motion, the dolphins, the birds, the crabs swimming past sideways, the sunsets over the water and multi-million dollar mansions.... there is an inner paradise to that.

There's one big plus to living on a boat, Wendy...it moves! You can always tug it, tow it, motor it, sail it, to another location!

Hey Wendy, There's always that Bisbee connection. The one time I travelled Europe, I met a woman on an escalator in Vienna that had been there. Bisbee's always calling us back, and can't wait until you come back!
