It's Beanie Time!

I gots my beanie on in the house for sure this morning! My outside temperature is beyond cold.
cricket... cricket...

The living room is a sweltering 48, the bedroom a toasty 42 and the kitchen?
Oh that silly kitchen...
Well... that looks like 22 degrees to me.
Pipes are frozen solid, fortunately, as a daily offering to the Caffeine Gods I use bottled water for good coffee so it's made and I'm drinking it. This is colder than New Year's Eve. I am not too uncomfortable at the moment as I have fled the kitchen and am sitting on the bed under a swanky Peacock Alley throw.

How can I be so comfy in the bedroom when it's only 42 degrees you ask? Because I just spent 15 minutes rustling around the 22 degree kitchen getting a picture for documentation purposes (wee bloggy)  and making coffee and this extra 20 degrees feels pretty good! I am quite sure this day will be one of selling lots of coffee, hot soup and mexican hot chocolate. We should do some hot tea for this hideously cold day here in Arizona. Plus... word has it that Gretchen is back in AZ... dunno if she made it back to Bisbee or not.. but we will have hot tea for her at The Poco to celebrate her return from the evil confines of Costa Rica.

At least we don't have to shovel snow. But I do think I'll drive to work today. and if it's slow, maybe I'll pop up to the house and turn on the electric blanket nice and early so it's super toasty for me when I get home.  Wish I had a fireplace or a real heat source... I should really get on that.  I have my eye on a ventless gas heater that is the size of a small wood-burning stove. A buddy has it for sale and has indicated I can make him an offer and it's mine... I don't know if he knows how little I plan to offer but hell, he can say no and we can laugh and it'll be fine! And cold..

Mother of Gawd!
I just checked the weather... it says 4 degrees... and a "real feel" of minus 22 degrees for Bisbee!
We get a high of 31... which is a helluva lot better than the 17 someone said yesterday and then a hideous low of 8 overnight. This is pretty serious... there are going to be busted pipes and stuff like that all over town. Plumbing chaos is just around the corner! I hope the complete re-plumbing of my house after "the incident" holds true to it's promise not to burst.

Oh Winter, you are a tricky one!

Yes, 20 degrees can be amazing. Good luck with pipes...I'll send them some good juju.

Make that offer, we'll all feel better for you!
