And this little piggy went weeeee weeee weeee all the way home!
More careful surgery ensued at the days end (10pm) as well as lots of soaking. My poor battered toe got encased in vitamin e oil and wrapped gently so I could sleep and this morning I think it's on the mend. It's nowhere near as inflamed and purple/red at the point of the ouchie. I'm not saying I am surgeon material... and by no means is what I did anything more than necessary... but to get it handled seeminly so quickly, well... I',m pleased with myself.
And Dave... your comment about what a doctor would do is what had me soak the hell out of it last night so ... thanks buddy! Team efforts pay off. David (one of the cooks at Poco) and I did a little team effort yesterday too. We ingested more raw garlic than most humans could stand in a week. We both still have stuff lingering in our heads and lungs... so we garlic dosed to fight the good fight. To lessen the blow, we did put some delicious cashew cheese on it and I had served it on Juliette's bolillo rolls. It was quite tasty. And incredibly garlicky. Now at the bginning of this windy day, I am ready to take on the day with a toe on the mend and the fun that is Sunday Brunch down at the restaurant.
The only other thing I have to say is this:
Baja style tofu tacos at Poco are INCREDIBLE!

The mucho garlic cheesey rolls sound awesome! Should suggest them for the menu... the Wendy Roll!
Glad you're toe is on the mend! Not fun, especially when you're on your feet most of the day.
