Last night I got to see my pal Sande Zeig's movie "Apache 8" a film about Apache women from the White Mountains of AZ who were the first all Apache women crew to be firefighters. It was shown on the local PBS station KUAT and will be picked up by several other stations across the country.
It was soooo good! I know Sande put in about 4 plus years on this film, and the end product had a nice impact on the audience as well as the women featured in the film. They are going to be doing a big NYC premier at the Smithsonian during a film fest there next weekend too!
Very proud of my pal's effort!
Good to see old friends last night as we all gathered to view the movie.. very cherished women in my life who I never really get to hang with anymore as we have all gone in different directions. A nice gift.
Just focusing on all the things I need to pick up today has my brain whirling a bit. I am getting accupuncture, I need swamp cooler parts, dropping things off at a Humane Society thrift store, various grocery stores, and at some point ping pong..I hope.
Dunno if I'm staying overnight or going home tonight... feel like I wanna go home and relax... it's not so relaxing to come up here and do all of this and my body is tired.
Maybe I just need more coffee..
