I am making some salsa with overpriced farmer's market heirloom tomatoes, anaheim chiles that I roasted stovetop, and listening to one Natalia Zukerman (a.k.a. Peanut) doing her amazing "Southern Wind" this sunny day in San Diego. This is the last day of the trip as I fly at asscrack:30 tamale morning. It's a beauty of a day though! I want to grab the car and tool around, but really, my raccoon eyes are just now mellowing a bit. No need to amp that back up! I'm silly looking already without exasperating the situation.
I'm marinating some chicken for the boys and I think the mega salad I am making tonight will be a good one. Now my pal Anne Heaton is singing in the background... her song "The Line" is stellar! I have to get caught up with what these women are doing musically now. Since I took myself off the road to recoup my balance and goodness, I haven't been too good at staying in touch. My phone wiping out everybody's numbers didn't help either.
I'll be checking in with the contractor in Bisbee to see just how much of an incomplete mess I am coming home to tomorrow.. and how far over budget this thing is going to go...(f@#% !!!) I hope it's only the standard 20%... and I'll be touching base with Poco to see how Easter Sunday brunch and Jesus Tacos went! I'll bet the day was awesome...
Now Susan Werner on the ipod.. singing "The Night We Won The War" I just love her... I love them all. How lucky I am to have a chance to know such good people who just happen to be so freakin' talented! Sane goes for the quirky town that is Bisbee though.. to be honest most of my pals there are just vibrant talented folks who really make the world shine with their gifts.
Lucky... lucky indeed.
