I got slow interwebs and fast coffee.

It's no secret that riding the brown pony is one of my big passions. In fact I'd say it's one of my favorite parts of the day. Even the ritual of morning coffee is something that I hold to be special and kinda sacred in my tiny little world. And this morning is no different. I wish my purloined interweb surfing was more expedient. But alas, it's dropping in and out so much I'll be lucky to get this posted.

Up kinda early to finish packing and hit the road for Tucson to catch my flight out to Nashville via... San Diego.

cricket..cricket.

Yes.. a wacky route to be sure. But dammit! I get to go stage manage The Blackberry Jam again, and I'm just grateful as hell to be flown in, and for the opportunity! Stage managing is clipboard centered. Who doesn't love a good day or so with a clipboard? I know I do.. and let's not forget a bunch of sweet music for the ears and a community turnout that makes the heart happy.

Last year was just after the floods in Nashville and the blackberry farm this takes place on had sustained a bunch of trauma and disaster in the wake of that. They are in fact riverfront.. The water level on the inside of the house was denoted by where the walls had to be cut away. So it was indoor camping. It was very rustic and I'll say I loved that they made us all feel at home even though the home was in absolute chaos. And let's not forget the dog.. good ol' Dallas. Champion retriever of anything fired out of the potato cannon. I have good stuff to look forward to and good friends.

I stay upstairs in a room with several beds kinda bunkhouse fashion minus actual bunk beds. Everyone stays up really late playing music and getting happy and kinda drunk and I just toodle off around midnight to get my rest for the next day. That's just how I roll..

Well I'd better get to it.
