late nights and late checkouts.

I am pretty pleased with how things are going with these guys so far. They are all super smart and Dave really is quite the character! He's very lit up about what he's doing and seems like since this whole Grammy nomination thing, it's going faster and faster for him.

Here is a shot of one of the numbers with Dave's buddy Parker doing some serious tap dancing.. you shoulda heard how slamming that man was just with a pair of tap shoes!

The show last night at the 16th Annual Goose On The Lake Festival was entertainment like the hills of Kentucky have never seen.. and the raves from these folks spoke volumes! Music really is one of the purest things that brings people together. So sweet... that is one of the things I missed about touring. Not getting to see people so lit up and excited! Feels like a part of me just got plugged back in. Getting in at 3:30 am was fine as I slept in the car while the boys schmoozed and hung out. I was pretty fresh by the time I collected them at 2:30.

I've got a pretty light day of an easy drive and a few phone calls before we head to Lexington. One of those calls is to The Mother Unit to check in.

Other than that it's hotter than Haedes out there.. super schvetty and my PTSD from my Hilton Head swampy summer is looming. I do not know how these people deal with that much humidity. Wow.

It's all seriously good on my end. These next 2 days are cake.. and the following 5 are the ones they really brought me in for. 7 through 11 are the real ass kickers.
Hotel coffee, chilly hotel rooms and the promise of a PBJ for breakfast are my immediate focus.

When I left Cape May, where it was never too hot, we landed in York, PA and it was 90 degrees and so hot and humid, could not believe I used to live there and think nothing of it! 13 years in York to be exact. It got a bit better in Helltown, temperaturewise, a bit north. Not like the lovely desert where 90 does not feel like 90 back there. I just swam for the second time, and it's yummy! Hope to see you soooon! KATE
