Fresh in from the City Council meeting..

Went to the Bisbee City Council mtg. to support the efforts of the Old Bisbee Rep Theater and their liquor license vote tonite. Was a packed house in there and more than a few familiar faces supporting this venture.
Some not so supportive voices too... parking concerns (valid) noise concerns (valid) and liquor concerns (It's Bisbee !! HELLO?)  In the end, the tie vote by the council was put towards the win column by the mayor himself.  At least they have a chance to give this thing all they've got to see where they can take it.

Gotta say, with any luck at all this will be the coolest new music venue in Southern AZ and put Bisbee on the level of cool towns like  Marfa and off the beaten path venues like Pappy and Harriet's. Both are destinations.. and both have a really cool feeling about them. The people that go there know, and seek that time and time again.

Bisbee is like that. And we do get great music here.. but with a 200+ seat venue on the horizon... just imagine who might come through? It's a big old cuppa hope for this music lover.. I tell ya!

Now safely in the confines of the torn apart again beach house in the desert, I'm watching "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer. A old fave movie of mine that I had picked up in Sept on my trip back cross country from Hilton Head. I forgot how creepy this movie was! Perhaps watching it before bed was a mistake?

So happy that it all went well. We had our two great granddaughters visiting together for the first time since Jade was on her giant journey, it brings us so much joy!
