There was no grilling on the 4th.

I grilled nothing. Not a tofu wiener or even a vegetable. In fact, I had raw veggies in rice wrappers and some black bean salad to nourish myself on the day most folks are having bbq's.  Saw no fireworks, and talked with all of my out of town neighbors who are in for the weekend.

I used to be that out of town neighbor who got down to Bisbee on fun weekends etc... 

But what this weekend really is about is this:

Bisbee's own Gretchen Baer will be exhibiting some of her latest works at The Vineyard Playhouse with an opening reception Saturday July 6th at 4pm.  The show stays up till July 18th.

I wish I was going to be anywhere near this.  Gretchen's work covers such broad spectrum. Her use of color and texture inspires so many different emotions. For me, it's often joy.  Pair that expertise of the paintbrush with the tastemaker/party-throwing, goddess like unstoppable human being that she genuinely is, and you have an art opening you will never forget.
