As War looms... we have our own war here in Bisbee.

I cannot be the only one who sees the headlines of the 426 children killed in Syria due to a gas attack as a lame attempt to get us in another war.  This war has nothing to do with us... and we can't change anything. We never do.  Ugh.

And here in Tiny Town a small war over trying to recall the mayor is in motion.  It is partly over the civil union ordinance and maybe even about banning plastic bags.. and maybe even part vendetta from some of those in government here that just don't want things like positive change and real solutions to be anywhere near our town and it's future.

This town is innovative and trying to move forward. And the first attempt at a recall petition from the First Assembly of Gawd failed.. and small town politics are not one to let go easily. Our mayor has a target on her back.  She still leads by example by showing up and doing as many of the next right things as she can each day.

And isn't it kinda interesting how she is getting on some state commissions on women and leadership... and how she is actually all over the state on any given week to try to meet with people to see what she can do to get us on the map and keep us there for all the right reasons? She is an innovator and a problem solver who has ideas that a large portion of her constituents want to listen to.  And yet some in this community who have a grudge would rather see our town never move forward for the sake of wanting to be right.

Makes me sad, but I am grateful to call Adriana Zavala-Badal my friend. She is also the most kickass mayor I have ever cared to know.
