It's Phoenix... I'd say it's roasting hot out there, but it's only about 60. But that is about 40 degrees more than a bunch of my friends have access to so I can STFU.
My tearful reunion with the band from Nashville has been great, and while it is a city I am not that fond of, I am finding that my crankiness is dissipated by being busy enough, and having good people to focus on and a fun hotel to stay at. The mood is light and easy, and a few more folks fly in from all parts today to complete the lineup for tonight's big Raise The Roof Bash at The Rhythm Room.
Grabbing some wi-fi and sending out some notes as I slam mass quantities of coffee before heading out to see if I can find some designated things the band wants to place about the hotel as they always leave their mark when they stay here. Having my pal Richard up here also makes it easier... he will meet me at some point this morning for breakfast and a visit. All hell should break loose about noon. Then a late afternoon aeropuerto pickup of the last little songbird (Janiva Magness) and the group will be complete. The traffuck mess at the pickup time will be what it is, but the excellence she will bring to the stage will be totally worth it.
