Holy busy day Batman! KAAAA-POW!
That was a day that was pretty much start to finish, a good 75 mph feel. I made it to Fred's party, but in nowhere near the festive mood I would have liked... I am still kinda sick and we worked our asses off at Poco so I was tired.. We got major slammy mcslammersoned at dinner and the place fills up quickly as we only have indoor seating for about 20. So by the time I left at about 8pm, I got home accepted the fact that I will always look like a matronly nun in a dress.. and schlepped my ass down to the party to tell Fred how much I loved him. And I do.
The party was largely a bunch of familiar faces, but not really many of my peeps, so it was not too hard to extract myself and get back after around an hour there. I loved how completely dressed up everyone was.. we are a beautifully vibrant community here! And my matronly nun look was jazzed up a bit by glasses, pearls and a funky 60's/70's scarf and a leather jacket. My Cole Haan loafers (the only dressy pair of black shoes down here in the house) were super cold and not suited for the night air... but damn... back in the day they did wonders for those summer evenings in shorts with a bitchn' tan... and a crisp white shirt!
Eveningwear?
Not-so-much.
And now... it's time to gear up for Sunday Brunch at Poco! A good time for sure!
