Hello Saturday! Guess what?

Poco managed to open for dinner and it was a great group of folks who braved the chilly temps to come out and dine with us. We rocked a portobello mushroom fajita that was beyond stunning and the flavors were beyond my abilities to describe. If you had seen these portobellos... they were just the most luscious ones I have seen in years! Giant organic mushrooms that Poco procured for tiny town of Bisbee to celebrate The Great Thaw.

Speaking of celebrating..

Yes... The good Reverend Chili was in fact in Bisbee for her birthday dinner! I got to duck out of Poco a bit early to join her over at the Roka for some laughs and celebration. This cold weather has this town in all sorts of chaos... about half of the hotels in town have no water due to pipes having burst. People have had to be moved from one hotel to another and bars are shut down as some of the water mains have been shut down due to too many geysers all over town. And these geysers are inside and outside of homes... it's not pretty.

Speaking of pretty..

I feel so lucky to have such vibrant beautiful friends! And while Julia will probably hate this picture, I'm posting it anyhow because she doesn't read the wee bloggy.

Wanna know what's not so beautiful? This is what I came home to at 11 pm..

I'm not sure who wrote it.. and I'm not sure if it means I have broken plumbing under the house.. but since it's a balmy 27 degrees out there, the thaw is coming. And I will give my super duper plumber a jingle to ask if he can investigate.  I'm not even going to tell you how grateful I am to have several five gallon jugs of really tasty water here... not only am I set for drinking water, but there is plenty for hair washing etc. I am still basking in the gratitude to have a home I really like in a town that speaks to my heart.

Simple pleasures... and it's going to be a sunny day with a high around 60 degrees. I can hear Bill Withers singing "Lovely Day" in my head already! That's always a song that gets me in all the right ways.
