I kinda lost my shite when I read about AZ House Bill 2586 that is proposing a warning area for Southern AZ (anywhere within 62 miles of the border) which means ALL of Southern AZ. Common sense tells me there must be some kind of gun toting Republican behind this... trying to scare off what few snowbirds we still have and the rest of our small tourist base. Common sense also says there must be someone scrambling to get more funds for big gov't to do more on the border... It's all about money. Let's face it.
And you know what's REALLY scary? Not the people illegally crossing the border.. It's the people who are potentially trying to squash business in your tiny tourist towns by putting out a blanket statement to the world that it's unsafe here... It's just not true.
I am not a poliitcal radical, and not qualified to really get into it... but common sense says if you pass that bill, our small Southern AZ towns like Bisbee are all going to suffer financially. Financial recovery should come before stupid politics.
