Nothing is free... Not even biscuits. Everything here around Music Showcase Disneyland is full of sparkle and glimmer and a cloud of pot smoke. I was out flyering till about 5:45 pm and while it was far from wall to wall people, it was still a huge stoned and drunken mass. And the party had barely gotten going. Had I been here in my party days this would have been pure heaven. And yet, I love what is happening here in spite of the obliterated people. So many different types of music, so many people vying for attention and different music filling the air every few feet.

Being the get-this-shit-done kinda gal I am, I had Sigur Ros in one earphone while still listening to the sounds on the street. I needed to have something familiar and soothing going to my brain.

Huge parties being thrown to get people in the door to hear artists and brand companies. And today, MPress Records is throwing theirs! I am up at the crack to get a jump on the jitter juice to go flyer before I transport the band to load in for the gig. Our party starts at noon and goes till 5:30. The lovely Rachael Sage and The Sequins go on around 2:30 and a short time later Mia Dyson brings the party to a rockin' finish. Glad I get to see all of this in such a vibrant atmosphere. It validates every inkling in my soul about music and how it can lift people up. Even if a lot of them are drunk.
