That's what I get for getting in at after 3 am! Thankfully Trina wasn't here for me to wake up upon my arrival back in Manhattan. It's nearly 11 am and on deck today is Stumptown Coffee (thanks Trina..) and walking around Central Park a bit later. In the meantime one of my fave gossip blogs is doing a "huge reveal" on a bunch of blind items at noon EST so that is most likely the high point of my 4th. I do love a good blind item.

Great times with Amy and her band of merry men. Those musicians have a huge wealth of experience and knowledge about soooooo many musical things all about NYC and beyond. It's staggering how much information they know about all things music. Fascinating!

The best part?

The band sounded great and they had a blast!

Kind of a beautiful day out there.. should be around 80, and I think the out-of-doors is calling me for a brief stroll before my date with my blind item reveals.
Oh... and let's not forget what matters.. people mugging for the paparazzi and letting band tattoos be put on them!

Back to the Baked Pueblo in the morning..

Show went really well! Bigger crowd than they say they usually have for a Thursday night show, and some familiar faces in the crowd. Best yet is the news that We can get them back in there around November.

Trina and Natalia really had fun and the crowd really got into it as evidenced by their enthusispasm at the cd table.

Looks like I don't get to go to Canada, but I guess I can always drive back to AZ if I need to from Houston. I am pretty willing to do what it takes to be happy and maintain my sanity these days. Not a bunch of room for chaos.

I do believe I have had my fill.

I need to get faster at settling at the end of the night. But other than that I am pretty damn pleased with how it all went. And of course... I got some amazing footage.

Ok... best to slumber now. The aeropuerto run is at 8:30 am.

Ahhh... the internet is a wonderful place.

People will notice the talent... it's unavoidable.

I am letting this incredible news sink in. We found out yesterday, but really... with all the congrats coming in... I am even further stoked about this!!!!

Maybe this is a big deal? I hope so... sure feels like it to me.

I predict this is the year it breaks wide open for Trina. Between some higher profile gigs, and her project she did in Germany coming out... you all better watch out! It's gettin' hot over here!!

"The Real Thing"

chicken kapama.

I love chicken kapama. I love cooking it.. I love smelling it cook.. and I looooooove eating it! Since I didn't get to cook yesterday, I made it this morning before I went off to my AA mtg. Came back, it was done.. now it's resting comfortably on the stove for a bit.

This has got to be one of my most special things to cook. It's fueled by my love for my godmother Irene who's recipe it was. It is such a beautiful olfactory response I get when I walk in the room where it's being cooked. Wow... takes me right back to being a kid in Hollywood.

I'm gonna hit another meeting tonight as I ran into some of the folks I really like at the nooners... and they are going tonight as well. Can't hurt.. a meeting never hurts. Build community... that's what I am amping up today.

Oh! And just got word that Garrison Starr and Adrianne will be playing the beautiful Latonia Theater in Oil City PA... I know.. you all are saying "What the hell is up in Oil City?" Let me tell you... I have been a big fan of the folks that have championed bringing incredible indie music there. So mark calendars... Dec 19th 2008.
Should be spectacular!
